Pharmacy in the intensive care unit: Ensuring medicines are coordinated

Critically ill children often suffer from several diseases at the same time, which are treated with different medicines. The Children's Hospital Zurich employs a Critical Care Pharmacist to ensure that the effects of the medicines do not cancel each other out or even lead to negative effects. Her task is to coordinate the medication in an interdisciplinary team with doctors and nursing staff.

Stiftung Chance for critically ill children finances the Critical Care Pharmacist in the intensive care units of the Children's Hospital Zurich.
