Mannequins for simulation training

Mannequins for simulation training

Simulation training is routine for pilots, but still more or less unknown to Swiss medical professionals. In an emergency it is vital that doctors and nurses work together with the utmost efficiency. Realistic simulations can be enacted using mannequins, to enable doctors and nurses gaining routine in emergency scenarios. The advantage of simulation training is the ability to practise on "puppet" patients without putting "real" patients at risk.

Simulation training at Zurich Children's Hospital will take place in a specially designed container on the Hospital grounds. Simulation mannequins in different sizes are an important part of the container’s equipment. There are expected to cost CHF 80'274.

Stiftung Chance is now raising funds to support the Zurich Children's Hospital in financing the technical equipment for the new simulation container.
